My name is Kaitlyn, and I’ve been a running addict for six years.
I began running when I was in high school in the Chicago suburbs with both track and cross country, but I only truly began to love running in my adult life. I ran my first marathon in April 2013, and my seventh in Boston in 2016.
Unfortunately, I had to take an entire year off racing in 2017, and I won’t be able to run another marathon until at least 2019. (See Coming Back From Injury for more info.)
Despite all my injury setbacks, I’m tentatively planning on running a marathon in every state and running all the World Major Marathons. I’ve completed six states so far (MO, IL, NJ, NY, PA, MA) and four of the six WMM (Chicago, New York, Berlin & Boston). If you have a favorite marathon in any state, let me know! I’m always looking for recommendations!

While I’ve been running for years now, I decided it was time to start up a blog after I left the world of journalism and decided I needed a new outlet for my writing. This blog began by covering my return after a three-month hiatus due to a tibial stress fracture. Now, it focuses on my training and efforts to stay healthy. I hope you enjoy it!
